Govt grants copyright to Aryans Shikara App developed by Aryans JK students

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir students of Aryans Group of Colleges, Chandigarh, have brought laurels to the valley with the Government of India granting copyright to their “Aryans Shikara App”.

The App has been developed by JK Engineering students of Aryans to reduce the gap between Shikara owners and the riders.

Secretary, Tribal Affairs, Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, re-launched this App at Dal Lake, Srinagar in presence of Chairman, Aryans Group, Dr. Anshu Kataria.

Dr. Choudhary, while appreciating Aryans JK students for developing this app, said that Kashmiri students have immense potential in every sphere of life to lead the country in many fields. “I have interacted with Aryans students many times and it gives me immense pleasure that again I am motivating them,” he asserted. The Tribal Affairs department and J&K Skill Development mission will always support Aryans JK students whenever they will be taking initiative for the betterment of the country, he added.

Choudhary added that he had also addressed the Aryans students last year who have contributed various innovative ideas towards boosting the tourism sector in the valley. He said that the innovations greatly helped in attracting a tremendous tourist influx from the world over adding that he is quite optimistic that these brilliant minds will carry forward their services towards further enhancing social life of Kashmiri people.

Feeling ecstatic while congratulating team Aryans, Dr. Anshu Kataria, said that these meritorious students have created a platform where details of all Shikara owners from gate number 1 to 20 have been made available on this App. With this the tourist can choose the gate and owner of the Shikara well in advance from where he wants to start the ride. On the other hand, Shikara owner also have the choice to accept or reject the ride offers, she added.

Deputy Director, Aryans Group, Dr. Garima Thakur, said that the idea of developing an app for booking Shikaras hit our mind after hearing about Ola and Uber. “Aryans is the only campus near Chandigarh outside Kashmir having over 2000 students from various parts of Jammu & Kashmir,” Thakur said.

President, Shikara Association Dal Lake, Wali Mohammad Bhat thanked Aryan students for developing such an informative App which will facilitate the tourists to a great extent. The Shikara App is available at the Google play store.
