Addressing the convention, senior vice president of Jammu and Kashmir People’s Conference and former minister Abdul Gani Vakil termed the government’s claims regarding providing employment to the unemployed youth a cruel joke.

He said that the government promised to provide employment to thousands of unemployed youth but those claims are limited to statements only.

“It is not in the interest of the country or Jammu and Kashmir to renege on the promises made to the youth,” he said.

Vakil further said that the central government must restore statehood to J&K without any delay or condition if they are keen to see huge participation of people in the coming elections.

Vakil urged the people to be aware of those forces who have been exploiting them, especially the youth, by giving misleading slogans to gain power. He described youth empowerment as an important aspect of every democratic process and maintained that PC is fully committed to carve out spaces for youth to play a critical role in our future.

“Our party’s main focus would be on youth empowerment and better employment opportunities on merits and transparency,” he added.

On this occasion, Mohammad Yaseen Chudisaaz along with scores of workers joined Peoples conference and expressed full faith in leadership of Sajad Gani Lone. Besides others who addressed the convention include Youth President J&K PC Sr. PC leaders Irfan Matoo, Mohammad Sulaiman Bhat among others.
