Dr Samoon inaugurates computer Lab at ITI College Chawalgam

KULGAM: Principal Secretary, Skill Development Department, Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon, today visited ITI college, Chawalgam where he inaugurated Computer Lab and inspected various sections of the institute.

He also held interaction with the students and faculty members at ITI and Polytechnic colleges during his visit to these institutions.

Dr. Samoon inspected various class rooms, labs at Industrial Training Institute, Chawalgam and Polytechnic College Kulgam.

He was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner, Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, Director Skill Development Department, Kashmir, Sudershan kumar and other officers.

During his visit to ITI College, Dr Samoon held interaction with students and enquired about the courses being offered in the college.

He stressed upon the faculty to impart quality training to the students and focus on practical oriented courses.

While interacting with students of ITI, he said that the scope for ITI trained students is growing rapidly and faculty should help students to know about emerging developments in the industry.

He urged the enrolled youth to make best use of available sources during the training period, adding that measures are in place to boost entrepreneurship ecosystem in J&K.

Dr. Samoon said that technical Education has a pivotal role to play in providing skill development training to students to overcome the problem of unemployment in Jammu & Kashmir.

Later, he also took stock of developmental works being executed at Polytechnic college, Kulgam.

Earlier, he distributed offer letters among students who have got placed in various establishments besides giving away certificates among PMKVY pass outs.

He also inaugurated Devri main gate and boundary wall constructed at the cost of 32 lakh at ITI College Chawalgam.
