Ashraf Mir applauds LG’s decision to relax age limit for JKCCE aspirants

Srinagar: Apni Party Provincial President Mohammad Ashraf Mir on Wednesday applauded Lieutenant Governor (LG) Manoj Sinha’s decision to approve relaxation in the upper age limit from 32 to 35 years for the open merit candidates for Combined Competitive Examination.

In a statement issued here, Mir said that the relaxation in the age limit of the candidates would help many aspirants to participate in these examinations. Also, the decision will fetch an opportunity for those JKCCE candidates to appear in the exams, who had just crossed the earlier age limit. He said many of these aspirants had missed the opportunity due to the disruptions caused by the outbreak of the pandemic.

He said that Apni Party president Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari had been urging the government for such an initiative for quite a long time. He added, “In fact, our party was expecting that Jammu Kashmir’s combined competitive examination aspirants would be given the age relaxation limit at par with the many other states across the country.”

Mohammad Ashraf Mir said that since unemployment has been rising for the past few years and people are grappling with inflation and poverty in Jammu and Kashmir, the government ought to take adequate initiatives that will throw windows of opportunity open for the youth in the Union Territory. He said we are expecting the government will ensure that a way is paved for creating new opportunities for employment in J&K.

Apni Party Provincial President said that the young generation from J&K has proved their zeal and worth in various dimensions of life across the world. These youngsters need to be given opportunities and wider exposure to showcase their talent in different fields.
