Srinagar: Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari has said that every year the ‘International Labour Day’ or ‘May Day’ reminds us of the sacrifices of the working class, and provides us an opportunity to renew our pledge to achieve rights for this inseparable class of our society.

He said workers and labourers in both organized as well as unorganized sectors are part and parcel of the whole society, and no society can progress until the due rights are given to these workers.

In his message on International Labour Day (May Day), the Apni party president said that his party will always stand with the labour class and will not leave any stone unturned to ensure the welfare of the workers of Jammu and Kashmir.

He said, “We ought to protect the rights of workers, especially the marginalized ones in both the organized and unorganized sectors. Workers are the backbone of every society and it is the duty of the society to ensure better working conditions, job security, health insurance, and so on for these workers.”

Bukhari said, “This day —May Day — reminds us about our duty towards the working class. We ought to fight for the protection of the rights of our working class.” He urged the lieutenant governor administration to roll out required measures and welfare programmes for the development of the working class in Jammu and Kashmir to ensure the lives and livelihoods of people belonging to the working class are uplifted.
