He however said that “The standard of working conditions needs to be improved as it still lacks in many sectors and often leads to mental stress for the workers.”

He said that the Govt should implement the minimum wage act in Jammu and Kashmir with a motive to provide equal opportunity for protection to their wages in government as well as in the private sector.

He said that the May–Day is celebrated across the world so that the importance of the labour class in the development of any society is not forgotten and their sacrifices are remembered.

Meanwhile, President Apni Trade Union, Ajaz Kazmi said that the Govt should regularize the services of the daily wagers, Anganwari workers and need based workers and others in the Govt departments.

He also demanded regularization of the NHM employees. He said that the Govt should not demean the services provided by the daily wagers in the departments during covid. Similarly, he said that the NHM employees risked their lives when the deadly virus was on its peak during the last two waves.
