Asks admin to reach out to affected with relief and compensation

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Senior leader and Women’s wing President Shameema Firdous on Saturday expressed anguish over the gutting of residential houses in a massive incident of conflagration in Namchabal area of Srinagar.

While expressing anguish, she said that the unfortunate fire incident has left the affected families in dire straits. “The affected families eke out their humble living by doing petty jobs. Most of them find it very difficult to meet both ends of life. Therefore it is imperative for the government to come to their rescue. I hope the administration will lose no time to reach out to the affected with adequate relief and compensation. I express my unison with the affected at this difficult time,” she said.

She asked the district and divisional administration to provide building material to the affected on subsidised rates.
