J&K logs 10 new cases of COVID-19

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir reported 10 fresh Covid cases on Thursday that took the infection tally to 4,53,966, officials said.

Of the new cases, five each was reported from Jammu and Kashmir divisions, they said.

Jammu district logged four new cases, followed by three in Srinagar, two in Baramulla and one in Kathua, officials said.

There are currently 55 active cases in J&K, including 40 in Kashmir and 15 in Jammu division, they said.

No Covid-related fatality was reported in the last 24 hours, officials said, adding that eight more COVID patients have discharged after their recuperation from various hospitals in Kashmir in the last 24 hours.

There were 51 confirmed cases of mucormycosis (black fungus), they added.

On vaccination, the daily media bulletin on novel coronavirus informed that 25,391 doses of COVID vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative number of doses administered across J&K to 2,25,12,096.

According to the bulletin, out of 4,53,966 positive cases recorded in J&K cumulatively thus far, 4,49,160 persons have recovered till date and 4,751 have died – 2,423 in Kashmir and 2,328 in Jammu division.
