ACB arrests UEED official for corruption
Srinagar: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Saturday said that its sleuths trapped and arrested a Works Supervisor of Urban Environmental Engineering Department (UEED), Srinagar for demanding and accepting bribes.
In a statement here, ACB spokesman said that it received a written complaint alleging that a Supervisor of UEED Srinagar, namely Imtiyaz Ahmad was demanding ₹ 8,000 from the complainant as bribe.
After registering a case, ACB constituted a trap team, which caught the Supervisor red-handed while demanding and accepting a bribe amount of ₹ 8,000 from the complainant. He was arrested on the spot, and the bribe money was also recovered from his possession in presence of independent witnesses.
Further investigation into the case is on, ACB said.
