30 new cases of COVID-19 reported from Kashmir

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir recorded 30 fresh Covid cases on Sunday that took the infection tally to 4,53,889, officials said.

No Covid-related fatality was reported in the past 24 hours, they said, adding that the death toll remains at 4,750.

All the new cases were recorded from the Kashmir division, officials said.

Srinagar district recorded 29 cases, while one infection was recorded in Baramulla, officials said.

Eighteen of the total 22 districts in the Union territory did not report any new case.

Moreover, 18 more COVID-19 patients from Kashmir division have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals, officials said.

No new case of Mucormycosis (black fungus) was reported today, they said.

On vaccination, the daily media bulletin on novel coronavirus informed that 6,066 doses of COVID vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative number of doses administered so far across J&K to 2,23,10,519.

According to the bulletin, out of 4,53,889 positive cases recorded cumulatively in J&K so far, currently there are 100 active positive cases in the UT including 92in Kashmir division and two in Jammu. So far 4,49,047 persons have recovered and 4,750 have died – 2,423 in Kashmir division and 2,327 in Jammu division.

Meanwhile  With 1,054 fresh cases, India’s COVID-19 tally has climbed to 4,30,35,271, while the death toll due to the viral disease has gone up to 5,21,685 with 29 more fatalities, the Union health ministry said on Sunday.

However, the number of active cases of the infection has further declined to 11,132, according to the ministry’s data updated at 8 am.

The active cases account for 0.03 percent of the total caseload, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate remained at 98.76 percent, the ministry said.

A reduction of 233 cases was recorded in the active caseload in a span of 24 hours, it added.

The daily positivity rate was recorded at 0.25 percent and the weekly positivity rate was 0.23 percent, according to the ministry.

The number of people who have recuperated from the disease has gone up to 4,25,02,454, while the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.21 percent.

The total number of Covid vaccine doses administered in the country has exceeded 185.7 crore.
