Srinagar: The Deputy Commissioner (DC), Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad Wednesday undertook a visit to Mulnar village, a hilly and farflug area in Harwan Block of the District to have first-hand appraisal of the public issues for on the spot redressal under weekly public outreach programme- Block Diwas.

During the programme, delegations from different Panchayats, besides scores of individuals apprised the Deputy Commissioner about the issues confronting them including augmentation of water supply, shifting of HT Power lines, providing houses under PMAY scheme, deployment of Revenue staff, repairs of roads and lanes/by lanes and restoration of Mulnar water bodies.

The Deputy Commissioner listened to the public patiently and issued on the spot directions to the concerned officers for immediate redressal of the public issues.

On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner inaugurated Mushroom units in the Model Cluster Village at Mulnar/Fakir Gujri under SCA to TSP for the year 2021-22 through which 2 Mashroom units have been established and beneficiaries have been provided ₹ 4.90 lakh as subsidy under the scheme.

The DC also handed over incentives to the tune of ₹ 14 lakh among 34 beneficiaries who have set up Bee Keeping Units in the Model Village.

Later, DDC also visited Government Middle School Mulnar and took stock of the construction works undertaken for upgrading the school as Model School under Tribal Model Villages scheme. The DDC directed the concerned Engineers to speed up the pace of work for its timely completion.

The DC also passed directions for allotment of land for construction of a sanctioned Primary Health Centre in the area to ensure better patient care and health services are extended to the local population.

While addressing the gathering present on the occasion, the DDC said that all efforts are being made for welfare and development of the people in the district. He said focused attention is being given for socio-economic upliftment of the marginalised Population and several Government schemes have been rolled out for unemployed youth for setting up of income generating units so that they earn their dignified livelihood.

The people of Mulnar and other adjoining areas expressed their gratitude to the Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar for bringing all officers of District Administration at the door steps of the people living in far flung areas and addressing their grievances and issues on the spot in the first ever outreach programme of Srinagar administration in Mulnar area.

The Block Diwas was among others attended by the Members of Block Development Council, PRI members and people from various areas of Mulnar, Fakir Gujri in Harwan Block.

While Chief Planning Officer, General Manager DIC, Deputy Director Employment, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Sub Divisional Magistrate East, Assistant Commissioner Development, Chief Education Officer, Chief Agriculture Officer, District Mineral Officer and other District/Sectoral Officers were also present on the occasion.
