Pr Secy I&FC reviews de-silting of Minor, Sub Minor canals

Jammu: Principal Secretary, Irrigation and Flood Control (I&FC), Ashok Kumar Parmar, today convened a meeting to review the status of de-silting of Minor and Sub Minor canals under convergence mode with MGNREGA. 

Chief Engineer, I&FC/RTIC Jammu, Hamesh Manchanda Superintending Engineer (RTIC), Ajay Gupta, Superintending Engineer, Hydraulic Circle, Jammu, Sumit Puri, Superintending Engineer, Hydraulic Circle, Kathua, Sanjeev Malhotra, Joint Director (E&S), Tarsaim Kumar and other senior officers from Rural Development Department, Jammu, participated in the meeting.

Principal Secretary directed the concerned officers to ensure completion of de-silting of Minor and Sub-Minor canals within the given timelines for timely release of water. He asked RDD and I&FC to work in close coordination for completion of de-silting work besides resolving the issues, if any, hampering the execution.

Principal Secretary also asked the concerned officers to conduct regular field visits of all these canals to ensure proper de-silting of the same. 

He asked the Chief Engineer, I&FC/RTIC, Jammu, to submit a plan regarding de-silting of these canals under convergence mode for the year 2022-23 to the Rural Development Department by the month of October or November, 2022.
