Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference on Sunday asserted that sloppy disposition of divisional administration has left people yearning for basic facilities in Srinagar, saying that divisional administration has miserably failed to ensure basic facilities to people.

This Party’s Chief Spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq said after making stopovers at various places in Gilisar, Bagh e Ali Mardan khan and Lal Bazar areas. During the tour, he interacted with the locals, who apprised him about various issues concerning them.

Tanvir was apprised by the locals about the slack attitude of the incumbent administration in mitigating their problems with regards to shortage of drinking water, erratic electricity supply and unavailability of ration in the local PDS stores.

“There is no accountability on ground; the work on all infrastructure, connectivity, electricity, drinking water, sanitation ,recreation, health and education projects initiated during the successive NC led government in the Zooni mar, Lal Bazar, Zadibal, Bagh e Ali Mardan khan has been put into a cold storage,” he said adding “We are aware of the development needs of the city. Srinagar city’s holistic, and sustainable development is high on our agenda. Unfortunately the regimes since 2015  didn’t rise up to the  development demands of the historical city.  The current situation is no better, it’s more worrisome.”

Let alone development, Tanvir said that the  widespread mal administration, administrative apathy and governance deficit have added to the pool of unemployed in these areas. “Artisans have been left high and dry. Most of them have been pushed to starvation,” he said.

Tanvir assured the locals that the party will take up all the issues concerning them at all appropriate forums. He impressed upon the administration to dole out extra consignments of ration at all PDS stores in the localities and also ensure steady supply of all public utility services to people.
