Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir today reported 25 new positive cases of Covid-19, 17 from Kashmir division and 08 from Kashmir division, taking the total number of positive cases in the Union Territory to 453793.

Officials said that Srinagar reported 13 fresh cases while as Baramulla and Kulgam reported 02 cases each. No new case was reported from Budgam, Anantnag, Pulwama, Kupwara, Bandipora, Shopian and Ganderbal districts.

In Jammu division, Jammu district reported 04 cases, Rajouri 01 case and Doda reported 03 cases, officials said, adding no fresh case was reported from Kishtwar, Udhampur, Kathua, Poonch, Samba, Reasi and Ramban districts.

They said that 180 are active positive cases in J&K while as 448863 have recovered and 4750 have died.

The officials further said that 10,009 doses of Covid vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative number of doses administered across J&K to 2,21,95,042.

Meanwhile  India’s virus tally rose to 4,30,27,035 with 1,260 fresh cases being reported in a day, while the number of active infections further declined to 13,445, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on  Saturday.

The death toll from the pandemic climbed to 5,21,264 with 83 new fatalities, the data updated at 8 am showed.

The active cases count comprised 0.03 percent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate remained at 98.76 percent, the Health Ministry said.

A reduction of 227 cases has been recorded in the number of active COVID-19 cases in a span of 24 hours, according to the data.

The daily positivity rate was recorded at 0.24 percent and the weekly positivity rate at 0.23 percent, according to the Health Ministry.

The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 4,24,92,326, while the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.21 percent.

The cumulative doses administered in the country so far under the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination drive has exceeded 184.52 crore.
