“I congratulate DYSSO Jammu and his team for a fantastic win in a nail-biting finale with the district team of Budgam,” said Gazanfar Ali.

Pertinently the UT level competitions in other three games are also underway and finals are being played at three different venues in coming days.

Nearly 9076 Panchayat/Block teams of all twenty districts of the Union territory have been registered for participating in four sports disciplines of Cricket/Kabadi/Kho-Kho and Volleyball being held during this historic and first of its kind sports extravaganza.

“To infuse a sense of competition and make these spots competitions more interesting and full of excitement, the YS&S Department has announced a cash prize of Rs 50 thousand for first position, Rs 30 thousand for second position and Rs 20 thousand for third position in all the four games being played under YSS Cup-21,” said Director Sports Gazanfar Ali.

He hoped that such initiatives of engaging non-students in games and sports would yield many encouraging results in the days to come. He appreciated the efforts of field staff of the Department of YSS for organising matches of the tournament most proficiently even in the remotest areas of the JK districts.
