DODA: District Level Inter block Sansad Khel Spardha competitions, organised by District Administration Doda, in collaboration with District Youth Services and Sports department, took off today at Sports Stadium Doda.
The event was inaugurated by Chairman District Development Council Doda, Dhananter Singh Kotwal in the presence of District Youth Services and Sports Officer Jaffar Haider Sheikh. In all eighteen (18) block level teams are going to participate in the Mega Sports event which will witness sports competition in different disciplines.
After inaugurating the event, the Chairman DDC, highlighted the importance of sports activities and extended gratitude to the Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh for this unique initiative which aims at identifying the local talent and to nurture them for the national events in the upcoming days.
The DDC advised all the participants to inculcate at least one physical activity in their daily routine to keep themselves physically fit. He emphasised the department to organise sports events on a regular basis so that youth of the district shall be kept away from drug abuse.
In the inaugural match, Changa block beat Bhagwa block by 2 points and in another match Gandoh block beat Dali block by 14pts.
