Sports Council, JKAACL organise Spring Theatre Festival Edition-II

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council in collaboration with J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) and Actors Creative Theatre (ACT) today organized a Spring Theatre Festival Edition-II at Tagore Hall, Srinagar.

The seven-day-long festival shall conclude on the 2nd day of next month. J & K Sports Council, the premier sports body of the Union Territory has not only remained on forefront to provide professional services to athletes in terms of coaching and training but also plays a remarkable role in weaning away youth from drug menace and other encompassing social evils for a better society.

The event is being attended by Coaches, Mentors and Trainees from different sports disciplines who would be further disseminating the knowledge being gained in this festival regarding harmful effects that drug addiction leaves on the health and family of all involved.

Secretary, Tourism and Culture, Sarmad Hafeez, presided over the function while Sayed Humayun Qaisar, a renowned broadcaster and former Director of Radio Kashmir Srinagar was also present among other guests.

This is one of the initiatives which the Sports Council has launched to build a healthy drug free ecosystem for youth of J&K. Besides, more such initiatives including sports festivals, Youth Leagues, sports events under flood lights, National championships, Para-athletic events, Water Sports and various other activities would be organized in future for youth.
