J&K logs 7 positive cases of COVID-19

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir reported seven new positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19), even as no virus-related death was reported in the last 24 hours, officials said Monday.

They said five of the fresh cases were reported from Kashmir and two from Jammu division, taking the cumulative total of positive cases recorded so far in Jammu and Kashmir to 4,53,569.

They also said 19 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals in the last 24 hours; this includes 13 from Jammu division and six persons from Kashmir.

No new case of Mucormycosis (black fungus) was reported today, they said.

On vaccination, the daily media bulletin on novel coronavirus informed that 42,777 doses of COVID vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative number of doses administered so far across J&K to 2,18,99,288.

According to the bulletin, out of 4,53,569 positive cases recorded cumulatively so far, currently there are 99 active positive cases in J&K including 70 in Kashmir division and 29 in Jammu division, while 4,48,720 persons have recovered and 4,750 have died – 2,423 in Kashmir and 2,327 in Jammu division.

Providing district-wise breakup for positive cases reported today, the bulletin informed that Srinagar reported four fresh cases, Baramulla reported one new case while Budgam, Anantnag, Kupwara, Pulwama, Bandipora Kulgam, Ganderbal and Shopian reported no fresh cases today.

Similarly, Jammu district reported two new cases, while Doda, Kishtwar, Rajouri, Ramban, Poonch, Kathua, Reasi, Samba and Udhampur reported no fresh cases today.
