J&K logs 16 cases of COVID-19

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir reported 16 new positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in the last 24 hours, while no virus-related death was reported, officials said Tuesday.

They said 12 of the fresh cases were reported from Kashmir and four from the Jammu division, taking the total number of positive cases recorded so far in Jammu and Kashmir to 4,53,476.

They also informed that 48 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals, including 25 from Jammu division and 23 from Kashmir in the last 24 hours.

No new case of mucormycosis (black fungus) was reported today, they said.

On vaccination, the daily media bulletin on novel coronavirus informed that 17,238 doses of COVID vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours, bringing the cumulative number of doses administered so far across J&K to 2,17,31,411.

According to the bulletin, out of 4,53,476 positive cases recorded cumulatively thus far, currently there are 185 active positive cases in the UT, including 114 in Kashmir and 71 in Jammu division, while 4,48,541 persons have recovered and 4,750 have died –2,423 in Kashmir and 2,327 in Jammu division.

Providing district-wise breakup for positive cases reported today, the bulletin informed that Srinagar, Baramulla and Kupwara reported two cases each, Budgam and Pulwama reported one each, Bandipora reported four new cases while as Kulgam, Anantnag, Ganderbal and Shopian districts reported no fresh cases today.

Similarly, Jammu, Rajouri, Doda and Ramban reported one fresh case each while Poonch, Kathua, Reasi, Kishtwar and Udhampur reported no fresh cases today.
