J&K logs 21 new positive cases of COVID-19

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir recorded 21 new positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in the last 24 hours even as no virus-related death was reported, officials said Friday.

Of the fresh cases, they said 12 were reported from Jammu division and nine from Kashmir, taking the total number of positive cases detected so far in Jammu and Kashmir to 4,53,403.

They also informed that 33 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals including 22 from Jammu division and 11 from Kashmir in the last 24 hours.

No new case of Mucormycosis (black fungus) was reported today, they said.

On vaccination, the daily media bulletin on novel coronavirus informed that 12,728 doses of COVID vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative number of doses administered so far across J&K to 2,16,66,729.

According to the bulletin, out of 4,53,403 positive cases recorded cumulatively thus far, currently there are 281 active positive cases across the UT, including 162 in Kashmir and 119 in Jammu division, while 4,48,373 persons have recovered and 4,749 have died – 2,423 in Kashmir and 2,326 in Jammu division and.

Providing district-wise breakup for positive cases reported today, the bulletin informed that Srinagar reported four cases, Baramulla reported three cases, Kupwara and Bandipora reported two cases each, while Kulgam, Budgam, Pulwama, Anantnag, Ganderbal and Shopian districts reported no fresh cases today.

Similarly, Jammu reported five cases, Ramban and Rajouri reported one case each, Kishtwar reported three cases, Doda reported two cases while Kathua, Samba, Poonch, Reasi and Udhampur reported no fresh cases today.
