J&K logs 24 COVID-19 cases, no virus-related death

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir recorded 24 new positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in the last 24 hours even as no new virus-related death was reported, officials said Wednesday.

They said 12 of the new cases were recorded in Kashmir and an equal number of cases from the Jammu division — taking the total number of positive cases recorded so far in Jammu and Kashmir to 4,53,347.

Officials also said that 32 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals including 17 from Jammu division and 15 from Kashmir in the last 24 hours.

No new case of Mucormycosis (black fungus) was reported today, they said.

On vaccination, the daily media bulletin on novel coronavirus informed that 15,125 doses of COVID vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative number of doses administered so far across J&K to 2,16,31,524.

According to the bulletin, out of 4,53,347 positive cases recorded cumulatively so far across J&K, currently there are 312 active positive cases in the UT including 168 in Kashmir and 144 in Jammu division, while 4,48,286 persons have recovered and 4,749 have died – 2,423 in Kashmir and 2,326 in Jammu division.

Providing district-wise breakup for positive cases reported today, the bulletin informed that Srinagar reported 10 cases, Baramulla reported two cases, while Budgam, Bandipora, Kupwara, Kulgam, Pulwama, Anantnag, Ganderbal and Shopian districts reported no fresh cases today.

Similarly, Jammu reported five cases, Doda, Rajouri, Samba, Poonch and Reasi districts reported one case each and Kathua reported two cases while no fresh cases were reported today in Udhampur, Kishtwar, and Ramban districts.
