“During the search, a terrorist associate of the proscribed LeT was arrested,” he said.

The arrested has been identified as Firdous Ahmad Wani, son of Ghulam Muhammad, a resident of Check Seri Pattan, the spokesman said.

Incriminating material, arms and ammunition, including an AK-56 rifle, and 30 bullets were seized, he said.

A case has been registered and investigation initiated, the spokesman said.

Three LeT associates were also held in Pulwama district.

In a statement, a spokesman said that police along with Army’s 53 RR and 182 Bn CRPF busted a module of LeT militant outfit by arresting three “militant associates”.

Those arrested were identified as Amir Nazir Hazar, son of Nazir Ahmad Hazar, resident of Wagam; Suhail Ahmad Bhat, son of Abdul Rashid Bhat; and Nasir Hussain, son of Bashir Ahmad Ganie, residents of Chinar Bagh, Pulwama.

“The trio was acting as associates of militant Arif Hazar alias Rehan,” the spokesman said, adding that a grenade, 13 rounds of AK-47 and other incriminating material were recovered from their possession, he said.

In this regard, a case was registered at Police Station Pulwama, and investigation initiated, police said.
