Weeklong celebrations conclude at GHSS Kothibagh

SRINAGAR: On the eve of culmination of weeklong celebrations of Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Pariyojna (PMBJAP) from 1st March to 7th March 2022, Jan Aushadhi Diwas was today celebrated as 7th day activity at Government Higher Secondary School Kothibagh, here.

Qazi Sarwar, Additional Commissioner Kashmir was Chief Guest in the event.

The programme started with the welcome address followed by Power Point Presentation (PPT) about the scheme by Rifat Nazir Nodal Officer, PMBJAP J&K. She presented a detailed report about the achievements and future targets of the scheme.

The Nodal Officer applauded the impressive and effective efforts of Vivek Bhardwaj, Additional Chief Secretary Health and Medical Education Department J&K for training the scheme to the newer heights of success in the UT of J&K.

She stated that about one hundred more Jan Aushadhi Kendra’s are being opened across J&K within a short span of time. She also thanked Department of Health Services Kashmir and Jammu for their cooperation in implementing the scheme most effectively.

The program is aimed at creating awareness about the benefits of the scheme through which quality medicines are made available to the general public at affordable prices. Hundreds of such Medical Kendra’s (stores) have already been established throughout J&K.

Rifat paid gratitude to Department of Drugs and Food Control especially Lotika Khajuria State Drug Controller and Irfana Ahmad Deputy Drug Controller Kashmir and their teams for their efforts in popularizing the scheme across J&K.

The Chief Guest on the occasion felicitated Irfana Ahmad Deputy Drug Controller; Hilal Ahmad Malik Prop Malik Sales Agencies with team, Syed Abdul Rawoof  representing Jan Aushadhi Kendras of Srinagar and Budgam besides Nazir Ahmad representing Jan Aushadhi Kendra South Kashmir.

The other dignitaries who attended the event were Wajahat Hussain, SMC Corporator Lalchowk, Inam-ul-Haq Siddiqui, Joint Director Information; Prof Nusrat Bukhari, Principal Govt Hr Sec School Kothibagh; Dr S Mohammad Saleem Khan, HoD Social and Preventive Medicine; Dr Naveed Nazir Shah, HoD Chest Medicine; Dr Nishant, Assistant Director DHSK; Dr Bilquees Shah, Deputy Medical Superintendent JLNM Hospital; Mohammad Rafiq Mattoo Regional Secretary Red Cross and others.

All the attending guests watched Prime Minister’s live interaction with Jan Aushadhi beneficiaries and Kendra owners on Doordarshan Kendra.

The programme concluded with distribution of chocolates and sweets among the children.

Among others, the 4th Jan Aushadhi Diwas celebrations were attended by all stakeholders of Jan Aushadhi and Kendra owners.
