The weatherman said that a fresh Western disturbance is affecting Jammu and Kashmir from Sunday and has thus predicted light to moderate rain and snow in Kashmir on March 06 and 07.

The temperature plummeted across the Valley after Kashmir received fresh rainfall today, officials in the Meteorological department (MeT) said.

They said that the prevalent weather conditions would likely continue till today late night and there is a possibility of gradual decrease thereafter with significant improvement from tomorrow, adding that dry weather would likely to continue till night of March 05.

However, Deputy Director of MeT, Mukhtar Ahmad told KNO that a fresh WD would likely affect J&K and adjoining areas from 6th March to 7th March.

“Widespread light to moderate rain in plains with moderate snowfall over middle and higher reaches of Kashmir would likely occur during the period. The main activity of the system will most likely to concentrate over higher reaches of  Kupwara, Baramula, Bandipora, Budgam and Ganderbal with chances of heavy snowfall over isolated places,” he said.
