Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir recorded 36 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday that took the infection tally to 4,53,088, officials said.
No COVID-related fatality was reported in the past 24 hours, they said, adding that the death toll stands at 4,748.
Of the fresh cases, 18 each were from the two divisions of the UT, officials said.
Srinagar district recorded the highest 13 cases followed by 11 in Jammu district.
Moreover, 123 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals including 87 from Jammu division and 36 from Kashmir in the last 24 hours.
There were 51 confirmed cases of Mucormycosis (black fungus) in the Union Territory. No fresh case was reported since last evening, officials added.
On vaccination, the daily media bulletin on novel coronavirus informed that 13,209 doses of COVID vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative number of doses administered across J&K to 2,15,28,229.
According to the bulletin, out of 4,53,088 positive cases recorded cumulatively in J&K so far, currently there are 527 active positive cases in the UT including 306 in Jammu division and 221 in Kashmir, while as 4,47,813 persons have recovered and 4,748 have died – 2,423 in Kashmir and 2,325 in Jammu division.
Providing district-wise breakup for positive cases reported today, the bulletin said that Srinagar reported 13 cases, Baramulla reported one case, Kupwara and Budgam reported two cases each cases while as Pulwama, Anantnag, Bandipora, Ganderbal, Kulgam and Shopian districts no fresh cases today.
Similarly, Jammu reported 11 cases, Doda reported five cases, Rajouri and Reasi reported one case each while Udhampur, Kathua, Samba, Kishtwar, Poonch and Ramban reported no fresh cases today.
