Srinagar: Schools in Kashmir Valley will re-open on Wednesday for regular academic activities after a gap of nearly two years. However, schools in snow-bound areas will be reopened after assessing the situation locally.
While the schools are all set to re-open tomorrow, there are certain snow-bound areas where the opening may get delayes, reports coming in from some far-flung areas of south and north Kashmir said.
Meanwhile, Principal Secretary School Education, Bishwajit Kumar Singh on Tuesday said that schools in snow-bound areas will be reopened after assessing the situation locally.
Local news agency KNS quoted Singh as saying that a review meeting in this regard will be held tomorrow and after consulting local administration of respective areas a decision will be taken.
He said that directors of Kashmir and Jammu have been advised to allow reopening of schools after assessing local situation in snow-bound areas.
He also said that children should attend schools from tomorrow happily and without any fear as COVID cases are declining. He however urged the students to follow all SOPs during school hours.
