Srinagar:  With 55 fresh cases, Jammu and Kashmir’s COVID-19 tally climbed to 4,53,052 on Tuesday, while no death due to the viral disease was reported in the Union Territory in the last 24 hours, officials said.

Of the fresh cases, 29 were reported from the Jammu division and 26 from the Kashmir division, they added.

The officials said Jammu district recorded the highest number of 23 cases, followed by 17 in Srinagar district.

Moreover, 123 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals including 75 from Jammu division and 48 from Kashmir in the last 24 hours, they said.

The officials said there are 51 confirmed cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) in the Union Territory and no fresh case of the infection has been reported since Monday evening.

On vaccination, the daily media bulletin on novel coronavirus informed that 4,882 doses of COVID vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative number of doses administered across J&K to 2,15,14,865.

According to the bulletin, out of 4,53,052 positive cases recorded cumulatively so far, currently there are 614 active positive cases across J&K, including 375in Jammu division and 239 in Kashmir, while as 4,47,690 persons have recovered and 4,748 have died – 2,423 in Kashmir division and 2,325 in Jammu division.

Providing district-wise breakup for positive cases reported today, the bulletin said that Srinagar reported 17 cases, Baramulla reported three cases, Kupwara reported four cases, Bandipora reported two cases while as Ganderbal, Kulgam, Shopian, Budgam, Pulwama and Anantnag districts reported no fresh cases today.

Similarly, Jammu reported 23 cases, Udhampur reported one case, Kathua reported two cases, Samba Poonch and Reasi districts reported one case each while Ramban, Doda, Rajouri and Kishtwar reported no fresh cases today.
