Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday reported 54 new positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19), even as no fresh virus-related death was reported in the last 24 hours, officials said.

They said of the fresh cases, 38 were reported from Jammu division and 16 from Kashmir division, taking the total number of positive cases recorded so far in Jammu and Kashmir to 4,52,955.

They also said that 137 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals including 79 from Jammu division and 58 from Kashmir division in the last 24 hours.

No new case of Mucormycosis (black fungus) was reported today, they said.

On vaccination, the daily media bulletin on novel coronavirus informed that 729 doses of COVID vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative number of doses administered so far across J&K to 2,15,00,494.

According to the bulletin, out of 4,52,955 positive cases recorded cumulatively so far, currently there are 788 active positive cases in J&K including 450 in Jammu division and 338 in Kashmir, while as 4,47,419 persons have recovered and 4,748 have died – 2,423 in Kashmir and 2,325 in Jammu division.

Providing district-wise breakup for positive cases reported today, the bulletin said that Srinagar reported nine cases, Baramulla reported three cases, Kupwara two cases, Bandipora two while as Anantnag Budgam, Pulwama, Ganderbal, Kulgam and Shopian districts reported no fresh cases today.

Similarly, Jammu reported 30 cases, Udhampur one case, Doda reported three cases, Kathua reported two cases, Kishtwar two cases while as Samba, Poonch, Rajouri, Reasi and Ramban districts reported no fresh cases for today.
