Work in a mission mode for entire JK: DGP to trainee officers

Jammu: The Director General of Police Dilbag Singh inaugurated Shoot House at SKPA, Udhampur and Women Police Station, visited the proposed site of Battalion Headquarters and also interacted with officers undergoing training at SKPA, Udhampur,

Accompanied by ADGP, Jammu Mukesh Singh, ADGP (Hqrs), PHQ, M. K Sinha, the Director General of Police, Dilbag Singh was received by Director SKPA, Udhampur Dr. S. D. Singh Jamwal, DIG UR, Range Dr. Sunil Gupta, SSP Udhampur, AIG Building, Deputy Directors of SKPAU, senior officers of academy and Engineers of Police Construction Division. The DGP first inaugurated Shoot House at SKPA Udhampur. He inspected the Shoot House, its control Room and also witnessed a demonstration drill of firing.

The Shoot House constructed under the Prime Minister’s development package has number of features to enable police personnel to tackle modern challenges on anti-terror front. It has been designed to train combat troops in close quarters battle situations in the closed environment of build-up areas. The facility would enable police personnel to carry out indoor live firing engagements to practice room intervention clearing drills etc. it also offers the advantage of live fire training as well as laser fire based two-sided opposed training.

The DGP interacted with the trainee officers at R.V Raju Auditorium in the academy. Director SKPAU, Udhampur, Dr. S. D. Singh Jamwal in his welcome address threw light on the functioning of the police academy.

The DGP said that after completing the training course they would find themselves on ground and advised them to imbibe the spirit of working with and for the people. He said that irrespective of any region or place they have to work for the entire country & Jammu and Kashmir in a mission mode.  He said that Pak agencies through social media are making attempts to mislead our youth and emphasized that it is the responsibility of our young officers to attract our youth towards the right path by using their influence. We have to continue our good work to further strengthen peace in J&K, the DGP added. The DGP said that the uniform for police personnel is a source of pride and respect. It represents the country and gives us more strength and energy.

Singh said Jammu and Kashmir Police has a very inspiring history and during the past over three decades Jammu and Kashmir Police faced many challenges posed by Pak sponsored elements and added that by determination and commitment the force has overcome these challenges with fortitude. He said that today no police force would match the sacrifices, courage and responsibilities being shouldered by Jammu and Kashmir Police. Singh said that praises, appreciations and acknowledgments are pouring in for Jammu and Kashmir Police at every platform of the country and added that it is just because of the sacrifices made by our brave hearts for sovereignty ‍and integrity of the country.  He stressed for remembering our fallen heroes in befitting manner and arranging special events for paying homage to the martyrs.

The DGP later inaugurated women Police Station Udhampur. DC Udhamppur, Indu Kanwal Chib, Vice President DDC, Juhi Pathania and senior police and civil officers were present on the occasion.
