With more and more technology coming in use for teaching- learning process and the National Education Policy-2020 laying stress on the use of dual mode of education which includes online as well as offline mode, establishment of smart classrooms in schools has gained paramount importance.

To meet this requirement schools have to be provided with faster internet connections, new LAN systems, computer systems, desks and other equipment.

Dr. Ravi Shankar Sharma asked the HOIs to personally oversee the process of making and submitting the Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) at the earliest. He asked the schools to formulate the DPRs within the permitted budgetary allotments. He further instructed the HOIs to workout ‘ ZERO WASTAGE’ plans- in terms of money as well as time also.

Dr. Sharma asked the attendees to stay in touch with the executing agencies to ensure completion of the process within the minimum stipulated time frame and avoid further academic loss of the students who have already suffered because of the COVID19 pandemic and the resulting closure of schools.

Pertinently, the establishment of the ‘smart classroom’ initiative has been taken up by the Government under the ‘Smart City’ project.
