78% students pass Class 10 exams

19 students score 100% marks

Srinagar: Private schools outshined their government counterparts in the class 10 annual regular examination 2021 results declared by the J&K Board of School Education (JKBOSE) on Wednesday.

As per the figures, a total of 78.43 percent of the 72,684 candidates who had appeared in the exam have passed the exam.

Girls had a slight edge in the exam by registering 78.74 pass percentage against 78.14 for boys while private schools registered a pass percentage of 91.18 against 67.25 among government schools.

As per the BOSE figures, a total of 38,721 government school students had appeared in the exam of which 26,040 have passed while 30,967 private students cleared the exam of the 33,963 who had appeared in November-December last year.

BOSE also said that of total candidates who took the exam, 8139 registered Grade-A1 followed by 11,077 candidates with Grade-A2, 12,429 students recorded Grade-B1, 13,079 Grade-B2, 10,131 got Grade-C1, 2137 students Grade-C2 and 17 students Grade-D.

According to the BOSE figures, at least 19 students who had appeared for the exams have secured 100 percent marks each followed by 24 students with 99 percent marks and 44 students had qualified the exams with 498 marks out of 500 each.
