J&K logs 458 COVID-19 cases, three fresh deaths

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday reported 458 new positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19), while three more persons succumbed to the pandemic during the past 24 hours, officials said.

Of the fresh cases, they said 252 were reported from Jammu division and 206 from Kashmir while of the three deaths two were reported from Jammu division and one from the Valley.

Moreover, 1,624 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals including 1,050 from Kashmir and 574 from Jammu division in the last 24 hours, they said.

No new case of Mucormycosis (black fungus) was reported today, officials said.

On vaccination, the daily media bulletin on novel coronavirus informed that 39,196 doses of COVID vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative number of doses administered across J&K to 2,10,82,425.

According to the bulletin, out of 4,50,331 positive cases recorded cumulatively so far, currently there are 6,255 active positive cases across the UT including 3,661in Kashmir and 2,594 in Jammu division, while as so far 4,39,332 persons have recovered and 4,744 have died – 2,422 in Kashmir and2,322 in Jammu division.

Jammu district reported 88 cases while as Srinagar district reported 80 cases,officials said.

They said that Baramulla 13 cases, Budgam 20 cases, Pulwama 09 cases, Kupwara 45cases, Anantnag 09cases, Bandipora 05cases, Ganderbal 08 cases, Kulgam 13 cases, Shopian 04 cases, Reasi 14 cases, Udhampur 26 cases, Rajouri 05cases, Doda 65 cases, Kathua 07 cases, Samba 03 cases, Poonch 06 cases, Kishtwar 17 cases while as Ramban reported 21 fresh cases today.
