J&K logs 547 COVID-19 cases, seven more deaths

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday recorded 547 fresh COVID-19 cases that took the infection tally to 4,49,333, while seven more fatalities pushed the death toll to 4,739, officials said.

Of the fresh cases, 307 were from the Jammu division and 240 from Kashmir, they said.

Jammu district recorded the highest 176 cases followed by 103 cases in Srinagar district, officials said, adding of the seven fresh deaths four were reported from the Jammu division and three from the Valley.

Moreover, 2258 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals including 1,596 from Kashmir and 662 from Jammu division

There were 51 confirmed cases of Mucormycosis (black fungus) in the Union Territory. No fresh case was reported since last evening, they added.

On vaccination, the daily media bulletin on novel coronavirus informed that 52,941 doses of COVID vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative number of doses administered across J&K to 2,09,83,824.

According to the bulletin, out of 4,49,333 positive cases recorded cumulatively so far, currently there are 8,512 active positive cases in the UT including 5,224 in Kashmir and 3,288 in Jammu division, while as 4,36,082 persons have recovered and 4,739 have died – 2,419 in Kashmir and 2,320 in Jammu division.
