MC Dooru Verinag holds briefing session on Vigilance Awareness Fortnight

ANANTNAG: The Municipal Committee (MC) Dooru, Verinag today held a briefing session regarding the ongoing vigilance awareness fortnight.

The meeting was presided over by President MC, Mohd Iqbal and attended by all Councilors, TSO Dooru and Verinag along with Ward Incharge at Town Hall, Dooru.

President MC Dooru Verinag while thanking Deputy Commissioner Anantnag said that it is a good step taken to have a review of the CAPD ration cards along with the awareness of different schemes available with the department. The President directed the Councilors to take a review of the list of ration card holders of their respective wards so that the deserved will get the benefits of the schemes of CAPD.

Proceedings under Vigilance Awareness Fortnight continued in various other parts of Anantnag in a total of 28 panchayat halqas. The Panchayat halqas covered include Batagund, Batengoo, Bewara, Bon Dialgam, Botakoot and Brad among others.

The programme witnessed participation of the public at all locations and thorough discussion regarding the supply of ration and sanitization of beneficiary lists. The people put forth issues regarding the implementation of NFSA.

The representatives from FCS & CA and RDD explained the provisions to the people and read the beneficiary lists so that people can point out any anomalies.

The program will continue in other panchayats and all the panchayats will be covered in the fortnight.
