Pole inspects ongoing works on Transit Accommodation Camps at Odina

BANDIPORA: The Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) Kashmir, Pandurang K Pole on Tuesday visited Odina village of Sumbal Sub Division to inspect the ongoing works on the Transit Accommodation Camps besides taking stock of various other ongoing development works in the area.

He was accompanied by Sub Divisional Magistrate Sumbal Dr Bashir Ahmad, Tehsildar Sumbal, Executive Engineers of R&B, PDD and PHE besides other senior officers of the district.

Officers at Transit Accommodation informed the Div Com that transit accommodation is coming up at the cost of Rs 57.60 crores comprising of 480 flats in 30 blocks. They said each block is four-storied with four flats in each storey thus totaling up to 16 flats in one block.

The structure is RCC framed with an arrangement for lift provided. Brickwork is to be provided for external and internal walls with wooden frames and shutters. Steel roof truss is to be provided with colour coated CGI sheets, officers also informed.

The Div Com took detailed stock at the site Odina and directed the officers to expedite the work so as to meet the deadlines, He stressed on maintaining the quality of works all along the project.

He also inspected various developmental works undertaken by the departments in the district. He directed to lay special emphasis on the works that are properly reflected in the already prepared annual plans and employment generating works so that people get meaningful livelihood opportunities in their own areas.
