WGAJK, Sports Council conduct selection trails, skiing, snowboard events at Gulmarg

Srinagar: Winter Games Association of Jammu and Kashmir (WGAJK) in collaboration with J&K Sports Council. from January 28th to 31st 2022, conducted selection trails, and skiing and snowboard events at Gulmarg in the following categories: Men seniors (Slalom and gaint slalom). Women seniors (Slalom & Gaint Slalom). Juniors Boys/Girls 2001-02-03 age group. Juniors Boys/Girls 2004-2005 age group. C-1 Boys/Girls 2006-07 age group. C-2 Boys/Girls 2008-09 age group. Seniors/Junior Snowboard events.

According to the WGAJK spokesperson, the selection trials were conducted today on 31-01-2022 in which 160 athletes took part. “During the process of trails a total number of 51 meritorious players game selected in the events of slalom and gaint slalom of skiing and snowboard disciplines for representing Jammu and Kashmir (UT) in forthcoming National Championship Scheduled to be held at Auli Uttarakhand from Feb 7th to 10th 2022,” the spokesperson said.

“The screening of the selected team by J&K Sports council shall take place on 2nd Feb. 2022 at Divisional Sports Council Office playground Srinagar and he contingent shall leave for the venue on 03-02-2022, under the charge of Shabir Ahmad Wani (Ex-international) Skier as Chief of contingent, Hafeeza Hassan (Ex-International) as Gen. manager/ Lady incharge and Gh. Hassan Bhat as coach assisted by Wanli Mohmad Bhat as I/C equipment,” he said.
