KU organises webinar on DELNET services

Srinagar: Kashmir University’s UGC-Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC) on Monday organised a webinar on ‘DELNET: Networking Libraries at Spreading Knowledge’.

Dr Sangeeta Kaul, Director DELNET, New Delhi, was the chief guest and guest speaker on the occasion who highlighted the importance of DELNET and the services that it offers to the information-seeking community across the country.

She demonstrated practically the exploration and functional aspect of DELNET and how the Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) can be benefitted by its services.

She urged HEIs of Jammu and Kashmir to join hands with DELNET which will enhance the visibility of the knowledge resources from the UT.

Dr Sangeeta also stressed on HRDC to conduct more courses in future in collaboration with DELNET for achieving a more trained human resource base across various disciplines and institutions.

Director, HRDC, University of Kashmir, Professor Mushtaq Ahmad Darzi thanked the guest speaker and also highlighted the role of university authorities particularly Vice-Chancellor Professor Talat Ahmad and Registrar Dr Nisar Ahmad Mir in ensuring their continuous support to run the HRDC smoothly.

Around 70 participants attended the webinar from various HEIs across the country.

Dr Sumeer Gul, Coordinator, HRDC moderated the session and thanked the chief guest and participants.
