Covid-19: J&K reports 4175 new cases; five deaths

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir today reported 4175 new positive cases of Covid-19 thus taking the total number of positive cases in the UT to 428260.

Officials said that out of 4175 fresh cases, 1363 were reported from Jammu division and 2812 from Kashmir division.

The UT also reported five infection related deaths – three from Jammu and two from Kashmir division, said the officials.

The officials said that 7107 more infected patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 1814from Jammu division and5293 from Kashmir division.

They said that out of 428260 positive cases, 42219are active positive (10656in Jammu and 31563in Kashmir division), 381389 have recovered and 4652 have died – 2271 in Jammu and 2381in Kashmir division.

Srinagar recorded the maximum number of positive cases (892) followed by Jammu (653) and Baramulla (475), officials said.

They said that Budgam reported 127 cases, Pulwama 153 cases, Kupwara 436 cases, Anantnag 234 cases, Bandipora 131 cases, Ganderbal 44 cases, Kulgam 292cases and Shopian reported 28 fresh cases today.

Reasi reported 25 fresh cases, Udhampur 104 cases, Rajouri 34cases, Doda 186 cases, Kathua 99 cases, Samba 55 cases, Poonch 49 cases, Kishtwar 13 cases and Ramban reported 145 fresh cases, the officials said.

They said that no fresh case of Mucormycosiswas reported today and the total number of confirmed casesremains51 across J&K.

Giving details about the vaccination drive, the officials said that 31,038doses of Coved vaccineswere administered in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative number of doses administered across J&K to 2,04,08,158.
