LMVs to be allowed from both sides on NH-44 today
Srinagar: The authorities on Wednesday said that traffic will be allowed from both sides on Srinagar-Jammu National Highway tomorrow subject to fair weather and better road condition.
An advisory issued by the traffic department said that light motor vehicles including passenger and private cars will be allowed to ply from both sides viz Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa on the highway tomorrow.
The advisory further said that subject to fair weather and better road condition heavy motor vehicles will be allowed from NAVYUG Tunnel (Qazigund side) towards Jammu after assessing the traffic situation on NHW.
The advisory requested security forces not to ply against advisory or traffic plan in view of traffic congestion on Jammu-Srinagar NHW.
“They may ply from Srinagar towards Jammu after confirming the status of NHW,” said the advisory.
It said that Mughal Road, Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri Road and Kishtwar-Sinthan Road continue to remain closed for vehicular movement in view of snowaccumulation on these roads.
