Haji Ghulam Mohammad Bhat of Tangmarg passes away

Tangmarg: A veteran political personality and senior National Conference leader, Haji Ghulam Mohammad Bhat of Qazipora Tangmarg passed away, Saturday afternoon, and was bid farewell by thousands who attended his funeral prayers at their ancestral graveyard situated at Qazipora. The demise was widely condoled by various social, religious and political organizations besides leaders including Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, Ghulam Hassan Mir and Mohammad Abbas Wani who expressed their heartfelt condolences with the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul.

Bhat was a prominent National Conference leader of the area whose political career spanned over several decades during which he occupied key positions in the party. He also was a prominent member of Markazi Jamia Masjid, Tangmarg and one of the founding members of Darul-uloom Payamia, and took part in various religious and developmental initiatives in the area.
