Theft case solved in Ganderbal, 1 person arrested: Police

Srinagar: Police in Ganderbal claimed to have solved a theft case by arresting one accused person involved in the commission crime and recovered stolen property worth lacs of rupees from his possession.

“On 17/01/2022 Police Station Lar received a complaint from one person Ishtiyaq Ahmad Rather son of Mohd Maqbool Rather resident of Manigam Lar Ganderbal regarding theft in his house during the intervening night of 15/16 January 2022. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 03/2022 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Lar and investigation was initiated,” said a police spokesperson.

“On receipt of this information, SSP Ganderbal Shri Nikhil Borkar-IPS constituted a special team led by SHO Police Station Lar under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Ganderbal. After strenuous efforts, the special team cracked the said case and arrested one person involved in the commission of crime. The accused has been identified as Suhail Ahmad Rather son of Ghulam Mohi-u-din resident of Baghwan Mohalla Manigam Lar Ganderbal,” the spokesperson said.

“On his disclosure, stolen property worth lacs of rupees including one I-Phone with charger, 02 Watches (Armani & Sekonda) & one Golden ring besides, tools used in the commission of crime were also recovered from his possession,” he said.
