Covid: Kashmir division reports nearly 70% of total 5818 positive cases

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir today reported 5818 new positive cases of Covid, 1167 more cases than previous day thus taking the total number of positive cases in the Union Territory to 372669.Also, 04 Covid related deaths too have been reported from Jammu division, officials said.

However, the good news, amidst this scarry scenario is that despite the rise in positive cases, the bed occupancy across the UT is only 8.32%.

“Against the availability of 4794 dedicated level 1 & level 2 Covid beds, only 416 ( 8.32%) are occupied,” the officials said.

Kashmir division reported 69.88 percent of total cases (4066) while Jammu division reported 1752 cases.

Out of 372669 positive cases, 26236are active positive (9336in Jammu division and 16900in Kashmir division), 341854 have recovered and 4579 have died; 2232 in Jammu division and 2347in Kashmir division, officials said.

Srinagar district once again topped the list with 1754, followed by Jammu district (1131).

Baramulla reported 791 cases, Budgam 594 cases, Pulwama 230 cases, Kupwara 93 cases, Anantnag 217cases,Bandipora 130 cases, Ganderbal 84 cases, Kulgam 162 cases while as Shopian reported 20 fresh cases, officials said.

They said that Reasi reported 56 cases, Udhampur 105 cases, Rajouri 85 cases, Doda 63 cases, Kathua 100 cases, Samba 89 cases, Poonch 66 case, Kishtwar reported 05 cases while as Ramban reported 53 fresh cases.

The officials said that 41,266doses of Covid vaccine have been administered in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative number of doses administered across J&K to2,00,27,707.
