SRINAGAR: Peoples Conference leader and former MLC Yasir Reshi Wednesday asked Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president, Mehbooba Mufti to come up with list of deserted leaders who she claimed are willing to return to her party.

Addressing a press conference here, Reshi who resigned from PDP in March last year claimed that Mehbooba’s statement is aimed at misleading people to reap political mileage.

The statement from the former PDP leader comes a day after PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti said those leaders who have deserted PDP and are now willing to return but would not be taken back.

“I have made it a principle that those who have left us will not be taken back. Many of the leaders who deserted the party are eager to return but I am not going to take them back,” Mehbooba said addressing a function at party headquarters in Jammu on Monday.

Reshi asked Mehbooba to name a single deserted leader who is willing to return and was not taken back.

“This statement of Mehbooba Mufti does not carry any weight; she is trying to mislead people the way she misled them in the past. It’s a fallacy, I request Madam to name a single leader who after deserting her party wants to return,” Reshi added.

He said those who resigned from the PDP had joined it with the hope that people of Jammu and Kashmir would be benefitted from the party’s agenda but had to leave when PDP failed to stand on that agenda.
