“This probe must be time bound and the erring officials of JDA must be held accountable for the injustice,” he said.

Addressing the protesters said, “The Tribal Community was assured following the abrogation of Art 370 that the rights from which you were deprived previously will be given to you. However, the opposite has happened with this community.”

“An assurance was given to make them equal with other sections of the society. The Forest Rights Act was implemented on the papers, but there is no implementation of the Act on the ground leading to the suffering of the tribal community,” he said.

He extended full support to the tribal community and will do everything to resettle the displaced families. “In this harsh weather condition and covid19 situation, the JDA has displaced women and children with no alternative to live,” he said.

He said that they will raise this issue with the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and seek a high level probe into the issue. We will also seek resettlement of the displaced families, he added.
