Uri: First case of Omicron was confirmed in Kashmir Valley as a pregnant woman from Uri area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district tested postive for the variant on Tuesday, official sources said.
Chief Medical Officer CMO Baramulla Dr Bashir  told Kashmir Images that sample of a pragnant lady from Dhanisayden Uri was taken on 20 December 2021 at SDH Uri for for Omicron after she she was already Covid postive patient.
He further said that the woman’s test returned postive for the Omicron , however,she is absolutely stable.
Health official further said that a team of doctors has been rushed to the woman’s home and samples of her family members and neighbors will be done.
