VC DDC, DC Kupwara hold joint meeting

KUPWARA : In view of resurgence in Covid-19 cases in the UT, the District Administration, Kupwara today convened a joint meeting of Officers, Aimah Masajid, Religious leaders, PRIs and other concerned to review the Covid mitigation efforts.

The Vice Chairman, District Development Council (DDC) Kupwara, Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir and Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Imam Din co-chaired the meeting.

In his address, the Vice Chairman DDC impressed upon the Aimah Masajid and PRIs to play their role in spreading the awareness regarding implementation of Covid Appropriate Behavior (CAB) among the general public.

The Deputy Commissioner said that the aim of the meeting is to send a message among the masses about implementation of Covid-19 appropriate behavior through religious leaders so that people remain safe from such a deadly virus.

He said that the Aimah and religious leaders have a good influence over the large masses and impressed upon them to spread the awareness of Covid appropriate behavior among the people.

He also stressed upon the PRIs to use their influence so that people will follow CAB religiously.

Other speakers also stressed the need for use of masks and maintenance of social distance in view of resurgence in Covid cases.

Later, pamphlets regarding Covid appropriate behavior were distributed.
