Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir on Friday reported 123 new positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19), while two more persons succumbed to the viral infection.

Of the fresh cases, 65 were reported from Kashmir and 58 from the Jammu division, which took the total number of positive cases detected so far across the UT to 3,41,290.

Two more COVID deaths were reported, one each from Kashmir and Jammu divisions, officials said, adding that in the last 24 hours, 78 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals, including 61 from Kashmir and 17 from the Jammu division.

No new case of Mucormycosis (black fungus) was reported today, they said.

On vaccination, the daily media bulletin on novel coronavirus informed that 75,235 doses of COVID vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative number of doses administered across J&K to 1,85,67,399.

According to the bulletin, out of 3,41,290 positive cases recorded cumulatively thus far, currently there are 1,337 active positive cases across the UT, including 915 in Kashmir and 422 in Jammu division, while as 3,35,425 persons have recovered and 4,528 have died – 2,329 in Kashmir and 2,199 in Jammu division.
