Umar Farhat’s ‘Zameen Zaad’ wins Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar 2021

Srinagar: Umar Farhat, a young Urdu poet from the Rajouri district of J&K has been conferred with the Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar 2021 for his poetic collection “Zameen Zaad”.

Besides being a poet, Farhat is editor of Tafheem, an Urdu language literary journal.

He was informed by the officials of Sahitya Akademi about his book being approved for the award. The award includes a casket containing an engraved copper plaque and Rs 50, 000 cash, which will be presented to him at an official function soon.
