‘2 persons arrested as many vehicles seized in Ganderbal’

Srinagar: Police in Ganderbal claimed to have arrested 2 persons and seized 02 vehicles for illegal extraction and transportation of minerals.

“Officers from PS Ganderbal have arrested 02 persons and seized 02 vehicles (Tippers) bearing registration numbers JK03A-0911 and JK04-9101 involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals from Nallah Sindh near Waheedpora Gangerhuma, Ganderbal,” said a police spokesperson.

“The arrested persons have been identified as Mehraj-ud-din Guroo  son of Gh Mohd Guroo  and Sajad Ahmad Rather son of Nazir Ahmad Rather both residents of  Gangerhuma. They have been shifted to Police Station where they remain in custody,” the spokesperson said.

“Accordingly, a Case vide FIR No. 232/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Ganderbal and further investigation has been initiated,” he said.
