ACB traps Ex. Engineer accepting bribe
Srinagar: The Anti Corruption Bureau on Friday said it has arrested Executive Engineer, Rural Development Department in Ramban district for accepting bribe of ₹4,000 for releasing payments for the work done under MGNREGA.
According to an Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) spokesperson, the anti graft body had received a complaint alleging that Madan Lal Chadgal, Executive Engineer, Rural Development Department, District Ramban was demanding bribe of ₹5,000 from complainant for releasing his payments for the work done under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) in District Ramban.
During the course of investigation, a trap team was constituted, which caught Madan Lal Chadgal, Executive Engineer red-handed, while demanding and accepting bribe of ₹4,000 from the complainant in his file.
The accused was arrested on the spot by ACB team, the spokesperson said, adding that searches were also conducted at the premises/residence of the accused.
Further investigation into the case is going on, the spokesperson said.
